EYFS

Nursery is where children begin their school life and Orwell Park experience. Children learn more during the first five years of their life than at any other time and we work towards guiding pupils towards their full potential within a caring and positive environment within the state of the art Pre-Prep building.

< Back to Pre-Prep

All our children are treated as individuals with individual needs and we invite them to make the most of their inquisitive minds through a variety of activities and resources designed specifically for them. Ensuring your child feels safe, secure and happy is our main priority, as only then will developments take place. We support your children’s social, cultural, intellectual, creative and physical development through purposeful play in order to prepare them for their future education and adult life. By the end of their time in Nursery, your children will have gained confidence and be ready for the opportunities, experiences and challenges awaiting them in Reception.

Every child in Nursery 1 and 2 is appointed a Key Person so that they can form an attachment with one special person at school. When children form attachments it develops a sense of security and belonging. It also increases confidence and self-esteem and it ensures that every child’s needs are firmly understood by at least one practitioner in the setting.

Stay and Play

Stay and Play sessions run once every half term from 9.30am to 10.45am. All are welcome for a morning of arts and crafts, Forest School, free play and music.

If you would like to book into these sessions please email our Admissions & Development Manager, Lucy on admissions@orwellpark.org.

After School

From the age of three, we offer child care support to parents who have commitments which fall outside the School day in the form of Late Stay. We offer an array of activities, prior to which refreshments are provided. These activities finish at 5pm at no extra charge and may include gardening, art and craft, storytelling, fabric painting, scratch art and outdoor playground games.
