Nursery 1 children are aged 2½ to 3 years. Nursery 2 children are aged 3 years to 4 years. The Nursery is where children begin their school life and Orwell Park experience. Children learn more during the first five years of their life than at any other time and we work towards guiding pupils towards their full potential within a caring and positive environment within the state of the art Pre-Prep building.
All our children are treated as individuals with individual needs and we invite them to make the most of their inquisitive minds through a variety of activities and resources designed specifically for them. Ensuring your child feels safe, secure and happy is our main priority, as only then will developments take place. We support your children’s social, cultural, intellectual, creative and physical development through purposeful play in order to prepare them for their future education and adult life. By the end of their time in Nursery, your children will have gained confidence and be ready for the opportunities, experiences and challenges
awaiting them in Reception.
Every child in Nursery 1 and 2 is appointed a Key Person so that they can form an attachment with one special person at school. When children form attachments it develops a sense of security and belonging. It also increases confidence and self-esteem and it ensures that every child’s needs are firmly understood by at least one practitioner in the setting.
