In early May we ran a fundraising challenge to create a fully digitised, indexed and searchable archive with SDS School Records. Thanks to your generosity and support, we made our target! Thank you.
Project Status: 105% funded!
Click to visit the archive and select ‘Request login details’ if accessing for the first time. Please bear in mind your request will need to be authorised manually – please be patient.
Read below to learn more about why we have decided to digitise the archive and make sure you are subscribed to our email newsletter to receive the latest project updates.
We know how important it is to feel connected to a community and to be part of something. That is why we are passionate about supporting our Old Orwellians – particularly those who may be isolated or lonely – by providing a rich archive resource that can be accessed from home.
This archive allows view every page of every Orwell Park newsletter from 1940-1990, and to search by any term, or to sort by topic such as by sport, by subject, or by year.
This work cost £5000 and it was made possible thanks to you.
“Orwell Park provided me with a sound education in a secure environment at a formative time of my life. The records of all who have been there are contained in paper records with all the risks of loss and destruction which go with that. It will be much more secure, accessible and able to be researched if converted into digital form, a well established practice now widely used. I am delighted to make an initial contribution to the cost and hope others will follow so that this task can be completed in a timely manner” (Old Orwellian anonymous donor)
Alternatively, you can send us a cheque made out to ‘Orwell Park School’, and marked for the attention of Development Manager Amy Carbonero.
Thank you for your support!
