Sadly, the traditional Year 8 post CE Ardèche trip is not able to go ahead this year, for obvious reasons. However, we have in its stead the Ardèche Challenge! Pupils will be following the route they would have taken to reach the campsite in the Ardèche. They started at 6pm yesterday evening and are aiming to, collectively, cover the 748 miles to our Ardèche campsite, on foot, by midday on Saturday 13th June. The first 24 hours has seen us cover 79.3 miles, so we are currently on the A2!
Progress can be followed on our blog (https://opsardechechallenge2020.blogspot.com/) which also shows all the pupils’ and staff’s (who were due to be on the trip) efforts so far.
In undertaking this challenge, pupils are also hoping to raise as much money as possible for the school’s nominated charities this year: ICENI, Dementia UK, Rainforest Trust UK. To donate, please go to the blog site and click the menu button (three lines) in the top left corner of the homepage.
Good luck to all the pupils, fantastic effort so far!
