Ruth Barnett, Holocaust survivor
It was a privilege to welcome to school, on Tuesday, Ruth Barnett, a Holocaust survivor, to hear her testimony about the horrors of the Second World War and her experiences as an evacuee from Germany on the Kindertransport.
Ruth spoke to pupils in Years 7 and 8, parents and staff as part of our Orangery Lecture series and the visit was coordinated by the Holocaust Educational Trust. Her testimony remains as a powerful reminder of the horrors so many experienced and as a warning to future generations. Ruth’s story is one of tremendous courage during horrific circumstances and by hearing her testimony, pupils had the opportunity to learn where prejudice and racism can ultimately lead.
