Trailblazing former pupil Hector Barr

Hector Barr has become the first ever Type 1 Diabetic to be granted a horse racing license.  This is a groundbreaking development and took Hector, and his mother Emma, over a year to achieve.  Hector has been racing this season with the latest event being the Higham Point to Point on the 15 April. Racing has always been a passion of Hector’s and with rigorous testing and management of his Diabetes he is able to compete, which he has wanted to do from an early age.  This is a fantastic development and congratulations must go to Hector and Emma for their perseverance.  Making a difference in this way will help inspire diabetics and encourage people to follow their dreams and not give up.
