The “Friends of Orwell Park” exists for the benefit of all pupils and parents and its primary role is to provide and coordinate support at school for either school or Friends organised events. The main focus is to provide fun social occasions, although funds raised by activities may be used to provide “luxuries” for the school, which would not normally be expected to come out of school income, and for supporting local charities.
The role of Year Representatives is to promote awareness of the Friends within the year groups and to co-ordinate support for school/Friends events. Years Reps are also responsible for distributing form lists to parents in year groups and for arranging occasional activities, especially at the start of the academic year (coffee mornings etc.) particularly when new parents are joining the school community. All parents are warmly invited to become involved with the work of the Friends and offers of help and support at all events, and indeed suggestions for future activities, are always most welcome.
